ABOUT
Welcome to Swastha Wellness, the healing space created by Megan Julienne. "Swastha" is the Sanskrit word for health. Unlike the Western definition of health as just being free from illness or injury, swastha translates as "being rooted in oneself." Ayurveda sees health as not only the balanced state of bodily functions and sense organs, but also the state of harmony between body, mind, and soul.
Megan completed her BA and MA at University of California, Irvine and has worked in the Orange County healthcare field for over 20 years, with the last 12 years in hospice. While striving to serve the local community in those roles, she has also been on the holistic path: practicing yoga, completing her 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training, maintaining a garden, experimenting with making natural beauty and health products, and becoming a Reiki practitioner.
Despite that years-long journey on the holistic path, after a flip-over car accident in 2018, Megan was shuffled along the Western treatment path for a few years. Despite the "recovery" from acute injury, she continued to have symptoms, and in pursuit of looking at her healing from more than just a "free from injury" standpoint, she set out on the holistic path again.
She was so inspired with results from complementary care modalities that she decided to complete her Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master training and return to school to pursue an education in Ayurveda and massage therapy.
Megan completed the Ayurvedic Wellness Educator certificate from Southern California University of Health Sciences, became a certified Massage Therapist, and is currently working on her Ayurvedic Practitioner certificate at SCUHS. She loves blending her background in whole person-centered care and holistic health, and is excited to help clients reach Swastha!
